God of truth,
who gave to your servant Jerome
the gifts of learning and wisdom
to render in the language of the people
the meaning of your holy Scriptures:
grant us, as we ponder the written Word,
to be ruled by your Holy Spirit,
that Christ, the living Word,
may transform us according to your will;
through the same Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
